Also, around August 2007 MDU Communications purchased Multiband’s
operations in Chicago, however all terms of our contract stay the
same as well as the call center number.
Service Overview
On April 1, 2006, Randolph Place entered into a new yearlong contract
with Multiband to receive an upgraded Satellite TV package for the
building. All units now receive DirecTV’s Total Choice with
Locals Package, which consists of over 155 channels, including all
local channels as well as Comcast SportsNet. In addition to the
base package upgrade, all units are now capable of receiving High
Definition (HD) Broadcast capability as well.
Receivers and Installations
Multiband will waive the purchase price of up to two standard receivers
for each unit. Multiband will install the first standard receiver
for free, and if requested, install a second standard receiver for
$29.95. If you want to purchase additional standard receivers or
want any of the non-standard receivers, such as the DVR (‘Tivo’
type) or HD capable receivers, please contact Multiband directly
for their most current equipment and installation prices (maximum
pricing specified below).
While you can choose to purchase DirecTV receivers from retail
stores instead of Multiband, we highly recommend that you at least
purchase installation services from Multiband. The reason for this
is that for all HD installs, and most DVR installs, additional equipment
is needed to interface with our system, and Multiband provides this
equipment as part of their installation charge. Also, all HD installations
require adjustments to be made by Multiband personnel at the building’s
main distribution facility for your unit to actually receive the
HD signal.
Other DirecTV Charges
DirecTV will continue to bill a monthly surcharge of $4.99 for delivering
the broadcast to each additional receiver beyond the first receiver.
DirecTV will also continue to charge a monthly fee for DVR service
as well as retail price for any programming not included in our
base package, such as HBO, Pay Per View, etc.
Receiver Purchase Agreements
All DirecTV receivers are sold, regardless of vendor, subject to
a standard DirecTV 12- or 24-month contract. This assures DirecTV
that the buyer will activate and use the equipment for the contract
term. If you are unable to meet the commitment for any reason, you
can return the equipment to DirecTV to avoid the contract penalty.
HD Capability
To receive HD you will need, at a minimum, a HD capable television
and HD receiver. Local channels are broadcast in HD at no additional
charge. Premium channel broadcasts (HBO and ShowTime) are provided
in HD at no additional charge above and beyond the cost of the premium
channel package.
Other HD Packages offered by DirecTV (e.g. Sports) will be charged
at the retail price. DirecTV reserves the right to modify the pricing
of HD broadcasts in the future.

customer at Randolph Place, please contact Multiband for all installation,
service and maintenance issues.
However, if your service is working properly, and you are only looking
to upgrade your programming, such as to order HBO, Sports Packages,
Pay Per View, etc., you should call DirecTV directly at (800) 531-5000.

Receiver and Installation Pricing
The maximum pricing is established by contract; however, Multiband
may offer discounts or rebates from time to time. The maximum pricing
is as follows:

Receivers: Standard $49.95; Standard DVRs $99; HD Receivers
$99; HD DVRs $299.
- Installations: The first standard
receiver will be installed for free. Multiband will install additional
standard receivers for $29.95. If more than one standard receiver
is installed in a single visit, the installation charge for each
of the additional standard receivers installed is $9.95. Multiband
will install all other receivers (DVR, HD, HDDVR, etc.) for $49.95
per receiver. If more than one of such type is installed in a
single visit, the installation charge for each of the additional
special receivers is $29.95.
